A Most Formal Invitation

Salutations, Adventurer!

Word of your brave acts and heroic deeds has stretched far and wide across our beleaguered realm, and it is with great glee that I commend your bravery! Alas, it is one thing to hunt fame and fortune and danger alone, with no banner to wave or brothers or sisters to battle alongside you, but for some, the call of grander struggle bellows.

Have you a heart that is pure and strong? Courage unwavering and bold? Then you are humbly invited to test your meddle and attempt to join the lofty ORDER OF THE STONE WEASEL, famed adventuring guild and noble collection of daring and devoted souls, united in the constant struggle against all things naughty!

If you dare to heed the call, present this missive to our founding Grand Chapter House in the noble town of BRAVEHOLD, and we shall see just how true the tales of your grand deeds ring!

Questions & Answers

This section is devoted to common questions about the settings and rules of this game. It will be a constantly updating type of thing, so check back often!

SETTING QUESTIONS
So, what's this silly game about?
You play a heroic member of the Stone Weasel Adventuring Guild, a plucky assemblage of good guys and gals out to do good and go on all kinds of perilous adventures.

Seriously, where did the Gnomes come from?
Gnomes are true wanderers, and can drift even between various realms and planes of existence. This is about as much as the scholars of the Known World know about them, as they never speak of these places to outsiders. If the Gnomes once had some home dimension or world, they have sworn me to secrecy on the topic…

Who is Grandweasel?
Nobody knows. Not even me.

Can the various Species interbreed? Are there half-Dwarves and all that?
First of all, you're a pervert. Firbolgs and Elves are "born" in very unconventional ways, and the only Species that breed conventionally are Humans, Dwarves and Gnomes. All 5 Species of Nezdriodel are capable of knocking boots (a Firbolg can hump a Nymph or a Human can hump a Dwarf or whatnot), but only a Dwarf mating with a Dwarf will create another Dwarf. There are no "half-breeds" in Nezdriodel.

RULES QUESTIONS
What happens if you have Advantage AND Disadvantage on one roll?
They cancel each other out and you roll the test normally. Similarly, if you gain Advantage from more than one source, you still can only roll the test twice and keep the best result (Same thing with multiple sources of Disadvantage).

If I have a negative damage modifier, is it possible for me to do 0 or less damage?
No. A hit on a damage roll will always deal at least 1 Hit Point of damage to a target, unless they have an item that reduces damage and can negate a damage roll to 0, like Dwarven Impervium Plate, for instance.

I get 2 free levels in a Skill. Could those 2 levels bring a Skill of 3 to 5?
No. You apply the free 2 levels to the Skill before you spend any Skill points, so if you wanted to have a 5 in that Skill, you would spend 5 Skill Points instead of 7.

What happens if I am called upon to make a Skill roll, but I don't have that Skill?
Most times, you would merely roll a Stat Test of the Stat that the Skill is associated with. For instance, if you were trying to sneak past someone, but didn't have any levels in the Stealth Skill, you would roll an Agility test instead. Sometimes, not having a Skill means you cannot attempt the task at all. For instance, trying to set a broken bone without any levels in the Heal skill would automatically fail. The GM is the final authority on what situations require Skill levels to attempt.

If I raise my Vigor with Experience Points, do I gain +10 Hit Points?
No. You only get 10 Hit Points per level of Vigor you have at Character Creation. After that, the only way you can increase your Hit Point total is via the Vitality Boost Edge.

Can I use shields without the Armor Training Edge?
Yes and no. You can use Light Shields without the Armor Training Edge, but using Heavy shields requires it.
